Conclusion

My Variable Topics in Drawing class has (sadly) come to an end. This blog was a part of the class assignments and I feel that I utilized it pretty well in order to learn about myself as an artists. My goals with this blog have been achieved through my different posts and writings, which aids in expressing myself further within the artistic realm. The class, in general, has expanded my notions of what is art, and what it means to create art, as well as my ideals about myself as an artists and how that places me within the time line of art history. I really appreciate everything that I have learned in the class and hope to only further myself as an artists. I may periodically update this blog with new art pieces. Once again, thank you; the support has been amazing.

New Section of the NCMA

I just went, with my parents, to see the new section of the NC Museum of Art. Let me tell you; it was amazing!!! The space is large and has a very interesting architecture. I am glad that they utilized outdoor space to aide the museum as well. After taking all of my art history classes I feel that it is easy for me to walk around an art museum and be able to understand and appreciate the art there. I am really grateful for my chance to see the new section; I highly recommend it!!

Details of Cemetery Collage

My finalized Bronze Sculpture

This is a bronze sculpture that I cast this semester. I have done a blue patina with ammonia and other chemicals; I am very pleased with the outcome!

My finished collage

During the Final Critique we (myself, the class, and my professor) that my piece is much more interesting standing vertically. I am surprised that I never flipped the piece around before, but am very happy with the result. I feel my piece accomplishes the goals I set out for it and am pleased to see it completed.
